The Stewart Family

The Stewart Family have been sent to Japan from our Church, in partnership with APWM.  In their first year they are integrating well, although Tomoko hardly needs to as she is Japanese by birth and culture.  The children are adapting well to Japanese school and have found some good friends.

Study Interruptions Nathan wants to study Japanese hard but his IT work interrupts very much. He has to deal with his client’s computers/servers during many nights. He has not been able to sleep much. He has passed Level 1 for this term but he would have done better if he was able to focus fully on his study.  […]

Nathan has been studying Japanese and has been working as an IT consultant. It has become very hard and tiring (not enough time to sleep) for Nathan to do both as working takes a lot of time, especially, at night time and his class now proceeds at a much faster pace than the introductory class.
