News from Lucinda and Paramarcia (E.Timor and Australia) – May 2022

A Big Shock

The staff of Casa Vida received some shocking news recently concerning the Organisation’s budget for the next twelve months. The Child Welfare Department in Timor has allocated significantly fewer funds to Casa Vida than in previous financial periods. This considerably reduced government funding has placed Casa Vida in a critical position. They have received US$20,000 less than last year’s allocation and approximately US$75,000 short of the actual projected budget for the coming twelve months.

If Casa Vida’s financial situation does not improve the organisation may be unable to continue operating.

A Big Blessing

We have some incredible news to share with you all. Our prayers have been answered and dear little Noemia has been healed. The surgical team in Dili were working with Josie & the team to prepare documentation for Noemia & her Mum Francisca to travel to Malaysia where Noemia was to undergo surgery. In the past month, Francisca and Noemia have been living in Dili.

At the beginning of April, as the team was praying, they were directed by Jesus to anoint Noemia (James 5:14-15) and again a couple of weeks later. In the following weeks, they began noticing obvious changes in the size of the lump. Josie arranged for Noemia to be reviewed by the. treating surgeon who could not offer any explanation for the sudden disappearance of the lump that had been growing since birth. A follow-up MRI scan has confirmed that the lump has completely disappeared and Francisca and Noemia have been able to return home to Weberek.

A Big Need for Prayer and Praise

  • For Jesus to speak to individuals, businesses, churches, and other groups to become regular financial partners for Casa Vida, Timor-Leste.
  • For the Weberek Team
  • For all the monetary provisions that Moyes & Josie have needed to pay for their flights to Brazil.
  • For clear direction for them each day as they visit family & friends & for specific appointments from Jesus during these three months ahead.
  • For Edy, Carol, Lety, Mica and Tobias, who will continue to visit Weberek each fortnight to encourage the believers.
  • God’s Spirit is moving in the hearts of the people in Weberek, and adults and children alike are hungering to know Jesus.

A Big May/June Rotary Container

Para Marcia, along with other non-government organisations, has again been invited to ship donations to Timor in a container that is due to begin being packed in Kingston, South-East Queensland, toward the end of May. Please pray with us for finances to cover the donations for Para Marcia, that we hope to ship to our team in Timor in this container. Among the donations are several guitars that have been donated to an informal pre-school in Dili and more backpacks to be distributed to school children in various locations. Pray also for a donation of chairs for the Weberek ministries and training programs.

A Big Thank you for Prayer and Support

Over the past 6-week period Jesus has been leading me to various locations to share about our ministries in Timor. Praise God for an answer to prayer for more support. Recently I received news that a church that I recently visited in the country town of Bongeen, has started a collection to support the work of Para Marcia in Timor-Leste.

If our Lord has spoken to you about helping financially toward any of the ministries that He has called us to in Timor and Australia, you can deposit your care offering in Para Marcia’s ANZ Australia bank account;
BSB:012800
Account:294 390 576

or alternatively, on our website, www.paramarcia.org, using the PayPal option.

Thank you for your partnership in prayer.
Much love in Christ,
Moyses, Josie, Edy & Carol, Mica, Lety, Tobias & Lucinda
