NEWS FROM LUCINDA
FEBRUARY/MARCH 2022

WEBEREK | PARA MARCIA | CASA VIDA

Dear Friends
The team continue to return from their fortnightly ministry trips to Weberek with reports of how more people are opening their hearts to receive God’s love and friendship and becoming followers of Jesus. Following the team’s most recent trip to Weberek (18-20 March), they had so many children, (190), come to the Saturday program and (148) adults and children attend the Sunday morning fellowship gathering at the house, that there was not enough room for everyone to gather under the cover area. Please pray with us for funds to be able to build a larger cover area/building in the near future, to be used as both a facility for the weekly programs and as a training centre. The vision is to have a training centre where the bible, language, health, horticulture/agriculture, music & any other courses that God leads the team to implement, will be taught.

Lucinda’s Travels

I am currently on a short mission in the Darling Downs, to share about Para Marcia, Casa Vida & the Weberek Ministry. I had an opportunity to speak at the Jubillee Christian Distant Education Activities Day on 18 March. On 20 March I was invited to speak at the Kingsthorpe Church of Christ. Please pray for me in these weeks ahead, as I continue to share about how God’s love is transforming lives in Timor.

Backpacks & Donations

Forty very joyous girls at Casa Vida & 110 children in Weberek send a huge, “Thank You Very Much”, for your generous gifts of the backpacks. All the donations that arrived in January have now been distributed. Para Marcia has again been invited by Bren Milsom, Rotary Burleigh Heads, to send donations on their next container in May/June. Please pray with us for funds to contribute toward this shipment.

Noemia

Noemia has now been discharged from the hospital and both Mum, Fransiska, and Noemia, (photo right) are staying with Moyses and Josie in Dili. Thank you to those who have deposited gifts into the Para Marcia account to help Noemia. The funds have been used so far for food and other essentials while they are staying with Moyses and Josie. They have needed to use funds also to prepare documents for passports. Please pray with us for Noemia to receive surgery in the best place for this dear little girl. We have been liaising with a group called Interplast about Noemia’s case. The surgical team that has been attending Noemia at the National Hospital at this stage, are arranging for Noemia to have the surgery in Malaysia. Please pray for Josie as she assists Fransiska to prepare the documents required to apply for passports.

Carol & Edy

In September 2020, student nurse Carol from Timor joined the Weberek Team and in November, Edy, who works as a computer technician at Casa Vida, also joined the Weberek Team. In February/March 2021 Carol & Edy started to pray with Moyses & Josie about entering a relationship and in October 2021, the Lord confirmed in both their hearts, His desire for marriage for them. They will marry in Dili on 09 April. Their plan is to move to Weberek later this year or in early 2023, after Carol graduates as a nurse later this year.

Moyses & Josie

These very hardworking Brazilian servants of our Lord Jesus would like to return to Brazil to visit family and friends. Their last tvisit was July-October 2019. It will cost US$8,000,00 for their return flights. Praise our Father God for His gifts of US$4.800.00 received so far and please pray with us for the remaining US$3,200.00 needed. If you would like to give Moyses & Josie an offering toward their flight, Carol & Edy for their wedding or support the work of Para Marcia or Casa Vida in Timor, please deposit your gift into the Para Marcia account below.
