Lucinda’s fellow-workers in the Gospel

Meet Moyses & Josilene Xavier

Moises and Josi are great friends of mine and in my absence from East Timor they and others have carried the burden of the work in Weberek.  Souls have been saved, the children’s work has prospered and the Gospel is making greater inroads into the community.

In their first season in Timor, (2001-2008), Moyses & Josie were serving the Lord as missionaries with the mission organization, WEC International.  Moyses is a trained Pastor and served in this capacity in their first season in Timor.

The Lord led them back to Brazil in 2008 and during those years, Moyses completed training as a Psychologist and Josie completed a Social Work degree. Moyses and Josie returned to Timor in November 2017 to begin another season in Timor and have been volunteering as Psychologist and Social Workers in the Christian Organization Casa Vida which cares for abused girls.  Both Casa Vida and the Xaviers need your prayers during Covid and the economic crisis the world is going through.

As well as Casa Vida Moyses and Josie have been visiting Weberek fortnightly and staying for a few days.  Moyses has started to train two soccer teams (He was on his way to becoming a professional footballer but left all for Jesus), a younger and an older team. Already he has established respect among these soccer trainees. Please pray for the Holy Spirit’s work on hearts so that each of these young men will be open to know and receive God’s love. Pray that Moyses might have more and more opportunities, in the Lord’s time and place, to share his relationship with Jesus with these youths.

Josie has started an English class. The students are a mix of male and female youths and recently one of the nuns who live next door to us in Weberek, Irene, joined the class. Please pray for Josie as she builds relationships with this group and shares the pure simple gospel of love.
