Update to Members of the Presbyterian Church of Queensland – Sale of Residential Aged Care Facilities at Protea Townsville, Vela Carina, and WRB Corinda.
We are pleased to confirm a sale agreement has been executed between the Receivers, the landowner and St Vincent’s Care Services for the residential aged care facilities at Townsville, Carina and Corinda. As with the previous sale of the freehold facilities to Apollo Care, the transaction is subject to approval by the Supreme court of Queensland.
We anticipate St Vincent’s Care Services will transition to be the care provider for each facility in late August or early September 2021. This transition will complete the sale of the PresCare aged care assets and will be undertaken concurrently with the transition of the residential aged care services at Rockhampton and Maryborough to Apollo Care.
St Vincent’s Care Services is a leading and trusted Catholic provider of aged care and retirement services with 20 residential aged care facilities throughout Queensland, New South Wales, and Victoria. St Vincent’s Care Services has a long-standing history of 175 years and embraces the values of compassion, justice, excellence and integrity. St Vincent’s Care Services has acknowledged the significant contribution PresCare has made as a provider to vulnerable community groups for many years and will work with staff to continue to build on that legacy.
Along with the PresCare Team, we look forward to introducing residents and staff to St Vincent’s Care Services and working with them through the transition. We aim to complete the transition over the coming weeks with minimal disruption to the daily life of residents.
On completion of these transitions to Apollo Care and St Vincent’s Care Services, the ministry and aged care operations of PresCare will largely be completed. We will provide you a further update when these transitions are finalised.
